In cooperation with the Directorate of Youth and Sports of Sadr City and the Iraqi Private Banks League, Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) sponsored a free book fair in Sadr City as part of a distinguished cultural initiative reflecting the spirit of awareness and intellectual culture of the city’s residents.

This fair was attended by various age categories, with more than 1,400 free books made available to visitors. On the sidelines of the event, Trade Bank of Iraq offered its diverse banking services designed to meet the needs of various segments of society, reaffirming its commitment to supporting community and cultural initiatives.

It also featured awareness sessions highlighting the importance of using electronic payment methods and modern payment cards as secure and advanced tools facilitating financial transactions and promote financial literacy among citizens.

Highlights of the voluntary campaign carried out by the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) in support of various government institutions.  

 

 

 

Trade Bank of Iraq Organizes Voluntary Blood Donation Initiative by Its Employees

In support of national efforts and as part of its annual humanitarian and community initiatives, Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) organized a voluntary blood donation campaign for its employees, in coordination with the National Blood Transfusion Center – Iraqi Ministry of Health. The initiative aims to provide essential support to patients and individuals hospitalized across Iraq who are in urgent need of blood donations.

TBI Spokesperson Mr. Ahmed Saad Al-Khazraji stated “TBI places social responsibility at the TOP of its priorities, noting that 2026 will witness the launch of a series of impactful community and voluntary initiatives supporting various segments of Iraqi society.”

He added: “This campaign falls within the Bank’s strategic plan to reinforce the principles of social and humanitarian responsibility, including volunteer initiatives carried out by TBI staff to strengthen institutional partnerships with government entities, including the Iraqi Ministry of Health.”

This annual initiative reflects the Bank’s commitment to its national duty in supporting patients, hospitalized individuals, and people suffering from hematologic diseases, reaffirming its ongoing role as an active partner in building our community through  such humanitarian and volunteer initiatives.

As part of its commitment to supporting and economically empowering women, Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) is funding the second phase of the “Advanced Development Guide for Young Women” program. This phase is launched under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Chair of the Supreme Council for Women’s Affairs. Dr. Shahbaa Al-Azzawi, the Office of the Prime Minister Advisor for Women’s Affairs, is directly responsible for implementation of this phase.

The program aims to train 300 young women across six Iraqi provinces, focusing on raising awareness and building skills in modern information technology tools and techniques, including artificial intelligence, photography, and digital marketing. It also provides advanced technical skills to enhance participants’ capabilities and prepare them for the labor market.

Additionally, the program empowers participants to design and implement sustainable entrepreneurial projects, enabling them to create independent job opportunities and increase their income sources. These efforts contribute to strengthening women’s role in the economy, supporting the private sector, and expanding job opportunities in the local market.

In coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Health Insurance Commission, the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) organized an awareness seminar on the Health Insurance Law. The seminar addressed the details of the law, highlighted its benefits, and explained how citizens can benefit from its provisions and the mechanisms for its implementation.

It also included discussions of procedures for applying the law, the advantages it offers to beneficiaries, and the role it plays in providing comprehensive health care for all citizens based on the principle of social solidarity.

Finally, the law enables the provision of healthcare services through a health insurance fund payment system, thereby helping to reduce the financial burden on citizens.

 

 

In cooperation with the General Directorate for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs-the Ministry of Interior, Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) arranged an awareness seminar on the dangers of drug use. The seminar addressed the severe harm and serious effects drugs can have on individuals and society, affecting various aspects of social and economic life.

It requires intensified efforts to combat these consequences of drug abuse, which involve toxic substances that severely damage both the body and mind—leading to nervous system poisoning, psychological and mental disorders, as well as weakening the immune system.

Therefore, we stress the importance of enhancing community awareness and continuous education on prevention methods, in order to protect young people and reduce the factors that encourage drug use and addiction.
