In cooperation with the Directorate of Youth and Sports of Sadr City and the Iraqi Private Banks League, Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) sponsored a free book fair in Sadr City as part of a distinguished cultural initiative reflecting the spirit of awareness and intellectual culture of the city’s residents.
This fair was attended by various age categories, with more than 1,400 free books made available to visitors. Trade Bank of Iraq Organizes Voluntary Blood Donation Initiative by Its Employees
In support of national efforts and as part of its annual humanitarian and community initiatives, Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) organized a voluntary blood donation campaign for its employees, in coordination with the National Blood Transfusion Center – Iraqi Ministry of Health. The initiative aims to provide essential support to patients and individuals hospitalized across Iraq who are in urgent need of blood donations.
TBI Spokesperson Mr. Ahmed Saad Al-Khazraji stated “TBI places social responsibility at the TOP of its priorities, noting that 2026 will witness the launch of a series of impactful community and voluntary initiatives supporting various segments of Iraqi society.”
He added: “This campaign falls within the Bank’s strategic plan to reinforce the principles of social and humanitarian responsibility, including volunteer initiatives carried out by TBI staff to strengthen institutional partnerships with government entities, including the Iraqi Ministry of Health.”

On the occasion of Global Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the TBI Women’s Affairs Division at the organized a specialized awareness seminar for the Bank female employees held at TBI Head office.

Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani Emphasizes the Importance of the National Mobile Telecommunications Services Company in Developing the Telecommunications Sector and Diversifying Sources of Revenue
Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani today, Sunday, sponsored the signing of the Memorandum of Association for the National Mobile Telecommunications Services Company, established as a public joint-stock company. The company had previously been approved under the Government Program and is being formed through the participation of three entities: the State Employees’ Pension Fund, the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI), and Al Salam State Company, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Communications.
His Excellency commended the efforts made by the Ministry of Communications in this regard, emphasizing the need to complete the necessary procedures to commence service delivery, particularly as the company’s operations will be accompanied by the deployment of advanced 5G services, which will be available to all citizens.
Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani affirmed that the establishment of the National Mobile Telecommunications Services Company, as approved under the Government Program, represents a significant step toward enhancing telecommunications services in light of the sector’s rapid development. He stressed that the company should be capable of competing with existing operators in order to provide the highest-quality telecommunications services, which have become integral to all aspects of life, particularly the economy, education, and the development witnessed across our country.
Mr. Al-Sudani further explained that this marks the first time three government entities have joined together to establish a mobile telecommunications company. He noted that the company’s shares will be available for public subscription, allowing citizens to contribute to its capital. This initiative, he said, represents one of the approaches adopted by the Government to strengthen the non-oil economy. He also emphasized that the establishment of the company is not intended to restrict the private sector, but rather to create a competitive environment aimed at delivering better services to citizens.

As part of its commitment to supporting and economically empowering women, Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) is funding the second phase of the “Advanced Development Guide for Young Women” program. This phase is launched under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Chair of the Supreme Council for Women’s Affairs. Dr. Shahbaa Al-Azzawi, the Office of the Prime Minister Advisor for Women’s Affairs, is directly responsible for implementation of this phase.
The program aims to train 300 young women across six Iraqi provinces, focusing on raising awareness and building skills in modern information technology tools and techniques, including artificial intelligence, photography, and digital marketing. It also provides advanced technical skills to enhance participants’ capabilities and prepare them for the labor market.
Additionally, the program empowers participants to design and implement sustainable entrepreneurial projects, enabling them to create independent job opportunities and increase their income sources. These efforts contribute to strengthening women’s role in the economy, supporting the private sector, and expanding job opportunities in the local market.

The seminar addressed the details of the law, highlighted its benefits, and explained how citizens can benefit from its provisions and the mechanisms for its implementation.
It also included discussions of procedures for applying the law, the advantages it offers to beneficiaries, and the role it plays in providing comprehensive health care for all citizens based on the principle of social solidarity.
