The Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) participated in sponsoring the annual Spring Conference organized by the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC), held in the United Kingdom. The conference aimed to discuss the trajectory of economic and trade relations, expand cooperation horizons, and enhance partnerships among institutions of both countries.
The conference was attended by Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul Ghani, along with Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Faisal, Head of the Advisory Board at the Prime Minister’s Office, senior staff from the Iraqi Embassy in the UK, and other Iraqi government officials. The event also witnessed the participation of Iraqi businesspersons and private sector companies. On behalf of the IBBC, Baroness Emma Nicholson, Chair of the Iraq Britain Business Council, her deputy Lord Green, Managing Director Christophe Michels, and other prominent British economic figures welcomed the delegation.
The conference was held at Mansion House in London under the theme “Visions and Opportunities” to explore avenues for collaboration between companies, financial institutions, and businesses, and to exchange expertise across various fields. The bank’s delegation participated in a series of meetings with several British economic and financial institutions to discuss international cooperation, aligning with the bank’s strategy to strengthen its global position by forming strong partnerships with reputable international financial institutions. The conference also addressed a range of topics, including energy, climate change, technology, financial investments, and transportation.
Mr. Taisir Jawad Al-Haeri, the bank’s Northern Region representative, participated in the financial and banking panel discussion, explaining the bank’s operational mechanism to the attending companies interested in entering the Iraqi market to meet all the financial and banking service needs.
