Trade Bank of Iraq participation at the Iraqi banks Forum in Beirut

Trade bank of Iraq concluded its three days participation as the diamond sponsor in The Iraqi Banking Forum in Beirut on 13/01/2017. theforum held discussions about different topics such as the opportunities and challenges facing of the Iraqi banking sector, sharing the experiences of the development of the financial sector domestically, internationally,and compliance through changing regulations and international laws.

Dr. Ali AL- Alaq the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Dr. Muthher Mohammed Salah the advisor to the Prime Minster for Economic affairs, Mr. Mohammed Rakan AL-Halbous the Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance Committee,Mr. Waleed Edy the advisor to Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, were present in addition to TBI’s representatives; Mr. Ryadh Ibrahim Member of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Ayad Al-Azzawy Deputy General Manager. Dr.khawla Al- Asady General Manager of AL-Rafidain Bank, Dr. Rashad AL-Dainy General Manager of AL-Rashid Bank, and Mr. Belal AL-Hamadany General Manager of Industrial Bankalso attended the forum. Several topics were also presented regarding enhancement of the overall banking sector, the role of the banks in financing projects and reconstruction, the guarantee deposits companies as a way to boost confidence in the banking system, and the role of digital security in the developing of electronic banking.

Workshopswere held pertaining toIT security platforms, promoting compliance processes within the Iraqi Banking Sector,digital banking services and critical infrastructure protection for banks and institutions.

There was a big presence of Lebanese banks that have branchesin Iraq represented by its general managers where they held meetings with the Dr. Ali AL- Alaq the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq and Mrs. Firyal Abduallah the General Director of the Company Registration at the Ministry of Trade.

Also, theconference also included an exhibitor hall for banks and participating companies. Trade Bank of Iraq had a distinct presence where brochures,promotional material “Mosul We Care”, and greeting cards for 2017 were distributed.
