In accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister, Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) took responsibility for the afforestation of one of Baghdad’s entrances (Baghdad-Diyala Highway).
In accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, to launch a national campaign for planting and afforestation five million trees and palm trees in the streets, squares, and highways of Baghdad and all provinces.
Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) assumed responsibility of afforesting one of Baghdad’s entrances (Baghdad-Diyala Highway), covering a distance of 9.5 km starting from AL Shaab district arch till Baghdad Gate in Al Hussainiyah district. The project includes preparation work, installation of a drip irrigation system, pumps, watering basins, and planting perennial trees.
This campaign is being carried out in coordination with the Baghdad Governorate, the Mayor of Al-Zahour district in AL Hussainiyah area, and the Government Communications Team of the Prime Minister’s Office. The activities will be implemented according to the planned strategies and programs, aiming to restore vegetation cover and plant vast areas with trees and greenery. Afforestation plays a significant role in reducing environmental pollution, combating climate change, and enhancing biodiversity, which reflects positively on the environment and the life of society.
