TBI Participation in Second GRC Forum 2025

Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) participated in the second Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Forum 2025, which was held at the Babylon Hotel in Baghdad. The event brought together a wide range of institutions from both the public and private sectors, along with government officials and experts in compliance, financial planning, and risk management.

TBI spokesperson, Mr. Ahmed Saad Al-Khazraji, stated:“Our participation reflected the Bank’s continued commitment to strengthening corporate governance and aligning with international standards through effective compliance and risk management practices. These efforts were essential to fostering transparency and improving the quality of services offered by financial institutions.”

He added that adhering to the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) regulations represented a cornerstone of sound governance and was fundamental to building resilient and sustainable banking institutions. He also highlighted the critical role that compliance and risk frameworks played in supporting the national economy and ensuring financial sector stability.

The forum featured discussions concerning key compliance concepts, sector challenges, and forward-looking solutions. Panel sessions addressed the implementation of governance practices, the integration of modern technologies, and the government’s role in driving institutional transformation toward sustainable development.

The event concluded by emphasizing the importance of such specialized forums in aligning financial and regulatory strategies, thereby enhancing institutional performance in accordance with international best practices.
