Under the sponsorship and supervision of the Central Bank of Iraq, the Banking and Digital Transformation Summit in Southern Iraq was held in Basra, with broad participation by banks and specialized financial institutions. The conference was attended by a distinguished group of governmental, official, and economic figures representing various sectors, including banking, finance, and technology, in addition to a number of stakeholders and experts in financial digital technologies.

Mr. Ahmed Saad Al-Khazraji, TBI official spokesman, stated: “The Bank is committed to supporting national conferences and initiatives that promote digital transformation, and to contributing effectively to the development of an advanced banking ecosystem that keep pace with international standards and meets the growing needs of the Iraqi economy. We reaffirm that continuous dialogue between banking and financial institutions and the public is the cornerstone for improving the quality of services provided, as we work to meet market demands and, in turn, deliver better services.”

The conference organizers also emphasized that Basra represents an ideal Launchpad for expanding financial inclusion in southern Iraq, given its economic importance as a central commercial, investment hub, and its role as a primary gateway for the country’s banking and commercial activities. They also noted that such conference reflects a shared vision between the public and private sectors toward building an integrated digital banking future, strengthening financial inclusion across all segments of society, and enabling financial institutions to provide more comprehensive and efficient services in support of sustainable economic growth in Iraq.
